Vice President Faisal Naseem stated on Tuesday the importance of adopting creative ways through research and innovation to address our social issues and ensure development. He made these remarks while speaking at the closing ceremony of the Police Research and Innovation 2023.
Speaking at the function, the Vice President noted that the most significant virtue of the people is the opportunity to live in a peaceful and safe society. Highlighting that law enforcement officers work diligently day and night to ensure this, the Vice President spoke about the importance of research and innovation and utilising modern technological advancements to enhance their services.
The Vice President also spoke about the importance of proactively approaching emerging issues and problems in the society. Organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Maldives Police Service and the Police Board, the three-day conference was held in Dharubaaruge.
Held from March 18-20, 2023, the conference sought to strengthen connections and build a strong network between stakeholders to contribute knowledge, research findings and experiences related to policing to enhance community-based policing. Reforming and modernising the police is a pledge of this administration.
