President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed concluded their official two-day visit to Alifushi Island in the Raa Atoll on Friday. On Alifushi Island, the President and the First Lady attended the official function to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities for 2022.

Addressing the function, President Solih underlined his administration’s efforts to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities and mobilise support for their dignity, rights, and well-being. He also stated that his administration would soon announce revisions to the disability allowance.

On Alifushi Island, the President and the First Lady inaugurated the new multi-purpose hall built at the island’s school. President Solih also met with members of the atoll council, island council, and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) of Alifushi Island.

A senior government delegation accompanied the President and the First Lady on the visit.
