The Cabinet of Ministers on Tuesday deliberated on the operationalisation of ferries in zone one of the first phase of the Raajje Transport Link (RTL)’s ferry service and the launch of Mini Bus Service in Malé, in accordance with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s presidential pledge to establish an Integrated Transport Network in the country. The discussions took place at the President's Office during the Cabinet working session attended by senior officials from the President's Office and relevant institutions.

At today’s the session, officials from the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation presented highlights and the latest updates on the progress of the RTL ferry service and the Malé Mini Bus Service to the Cabinet. The presentations focused on the progress of the project's implementation efforts to operationalise zones two and three. The presentations also revealed that the newly introduced Mini Bus Service in Malé was gaining public support and cooperation.

The RTL ferry service is being established in three phases, each of which corresponds to different zones of the Maldives. The project's first phase, which includes the northernmost Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, and Shaviyani Atolls in zone one, is now fully operational.

The Cabinet and the relevant institutes also discussed ways to further improve and elevate these services.
