The First Lady attends the closing of the Training of Trainers workshop of the "Power to Persuade" programme

First Lady Fazna Ahmed on Tuesday attended the closing ceremony of the Training of Trainers workshop of the "Power to Persuade: Leadership and advocacy training for women with disabilities" programme. It was organised by the local NGO, Care Society, in association with U.S. Aid.

The Power to Persuade programme seeks to train 100 women with disabilities to advocate for their rights and be a part of the development and democratic process of the country. The training for trainers workshop was the first such training facilitated by people with disabilities in the Maldives.

The workshop was focused on participants from the Haa Dhaalu, Kaafu, and Laamu Atolls and Addu City, with the participation of two from each atoll. The participants who completed the workshop would be mobilised to train 100 women with disabilities in these four regions.
