President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Tuesday afternoon departed on a one-day visit to Maafushi Island in the Kaafu Atoll. During this visit, he would attend a ceremony held to hand over the newly reclaimed area and picnic island to the Maafushi Island Council.
President Solih would also inaugurate the new football stadium developed on the island and make stops at Maafushi Prison and Maafushi Health Centre to meet the management and staff. On Maafushi Island, the President would also meet with members of the Maafushi Island Council and Women’s Development Committee. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation of government officials.
