Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated that schools had set the best example during the Covid-19 pandemic. He made this statement while speaking at the ceremony held this afternoon to officially inaugurate the new multi-purpose hall in Mohamed Jamaluddin School in Fuvahmulah City.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice President praised the teachers and the Ministry of Education for their efforts in ensuring that students received uninterrupted education even while schools were closed due to the pandemic. He said that the work of schools across the nation had not halted despite incoming state revenue having slowed significantly owing to the Covid-19 outbreak. He regarded it as a significant effort taken under the foresight of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Speaking further, Vice President Faisal Naseem noted that Covid-19 was not being managed in nearby countries, but the Maldives had set an example in managing the pandemic. He was also pleased to state that schools were exceedingly efficient at complying with the safety guidelines and rules set to safeguard against Covid-19.

The Vice President is currently on a trip to Fuvahmulah and Addu cities, accompanied by a high-level delegation from the government.
