President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has attended the second match played by the Maldives National Football Team in the SAFF Championship 2021. The Maldives team faced off against Bangladesh at the National Stadium tonight.
This was the sixth match in the championship which would go on from 1 -16 October 2021. The Maldives won the match with a score of 2 - 0.
The President was accompanied at the stadium by the President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs and State Dignitary, Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzudin, Abdulla Shahid, as well as other cabinet members, senior government officials and Maldivian supporters.
The Maldives had previously won the SAFF Championship cup twice, once in 2008 and once in 2018.
