President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed have departed on a three-day trip to Kulhudhuffushi City, Kumundhoo Island and Hanimaadhoo Island in South Thiladhunmathi Atoll, this afternoon.
The President and the First Lady are scheduled to visit Kulhudhuffushi City first, the Maldives’ northernmost city. Their programme for the city includes touring landmarks and meet the city's leaders. Several discussions sessions with the President have been arranged during the visit to the city, including meetings with the South Thiladhunmathi Atoll Council, the Kulhudhuffushi City Council, the Women’s Development Committee and the heads of educational institutions in the city. First Lady Fazna Ahmed is also scheduled to have various meetings with city stakeholders during the visit.
Following the visit to Kulhudhuffushi City, the President and the First Lady would make a stop at Kumundhoo Island. President Solih is scheduled to meet with members of the Kumundhoo Island Council and the island's Women’s Development Committee. The first couple would tour several areas of the island, including the health centre and school, during their stop.
The three-day visit to Haa Dhaalu Atoll will conclude in Hanimaadhoo Island, where President Solih will hold discussions with several stakeholders including members of Hanimaadhoo Island Council and the Women’s Development Committee. The President will also inaugurate the road-development project in Hanimaadhoo and examine the progress of ongoing government projects on the island.
The President and the First Lady are due to conclude their trip and return to Malé this coming Sunday.
