President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has today appointed Dr Mohamed Solih as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH). He was appointed at the level of a Deputy Minister. President Solih made the decision to appoint a CEO to AEH following its recent upgrade to a tertiary level hospital.

Dr Mohamed Solih obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Nottingham University, in the United Kingdom. He had also previously obtained a Master of Surgery (General Surgery) from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, in Nepal.

Dr Solih has been active in the field of healthcare management for almost 15 years, including in executive positions, and has further accumulated 26 years of experience in clinical care. He had previously served as Chief Surgeon, Managing Director and CEO at Medica Hospital; and Head of Department of Surgery, and Senior Consultant General Surgeon, at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, among many other senior positions in the health sector.

Dr Solih has completed various training programs and attended several conferences and workshops during his service in the field. He also serves as the President of Maldives Anti-doping Association, and is a founder member of Maldives Medical Association (MMA) and Maldives Orthopaedic Association (MOA).
