Vice President Faisal Naseem has met and discussed ways to provide more opportunities for persons with disabilities. The meeting, joined by senior officials from State-Owned Enterprises and Cabinet Ministers, was held this afternoon at the President’s Office.

Discussions at the meeting were focussed on improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities by providing them with more job opportunities, especially in SOEs and Government institutions. Talks were also held on avenues to encourage all persons with disabilities to utilise their individual and creative talents through the education sector.

Cabinet Ministers at the meeting included Dr Aishath Ali, the Minister of Education; Shidhatha Shareef, the Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services; and, Dr Ahmed Zahir, the Minister of Islamic Affairs. It was also attended by top officials from the Civil Service Commission; Dhiraagu; FENAKA Corporation Limited; Island Aviation Services Limited (IAS); Local Government Authority (LGA); Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL); Maldives Ports Limited (MPL); Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC); Malé Water & Sewerage Company (MWSC); Public Service Media (PSM); State Electric Company Limited (STELCO); State Trading Organisation (STO); and, Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO).
