President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with council members from Nilandhoo Island Council of Nilandhe Atoll. The meeting was held at the President’s office this afternoon.
During the meeting, the Councillors discussed the issue of erosion in the reclamated area of the island and challenges in waste management. They also shared details regarding developing the harbour area and highlighted the need for improvement to health services.
President Solih share updates of some projects proposed to the Island and notes that the most of the issues highlighted during the meeting would be resolved through the proposed amendments to the Decentralization Act and with the provisions of next year’s state budget. The President assured that his administration will ensure that all developmental plans and projects are feasible and designed to secure maximum benefits for the constituents.
The President also affirmed that the administration would take the necessary actions after consulting with relevant ministries to address the specific concerns and issues raised by the Councillors.
