President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has this afternoon visited Velana International Airport (VIA) and observed the progress of the expansion project underway at the airport.
President Solih was welcomed by senior officials from Maldives Aiports Company Limited (MACL) upon arrival at the airport.
The President visited and observed the progress of the facilities being built under the airport expansion project, including the new sea plane terminal, sea plane maintenance building, the new apron, the new passenger terminal for international flights and the new cargo terminal.
The President was briefed on airport operations in each facility and the how the expansion project would further ease the services offered from the airport.
