President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has this afternoon met with the Members of the South Nilandhi Atoll Hulhudheli Island Council and Senior officials from government institutions in the island.
At the meeting held at the Hulhudheli School, members of the council and senior officials from government institutions briefed the President on the most urgent needs of the island’s citizen, and the plans for the further development and progress of the island.
In this regard, the council members emphasized the need for Harbour expansion project and issues in utility services. The Councillors also expressed concerns raised by the Fisher community, including establishing collecting facilities in the region. Councillors also stress the need for sports and recreational facilities for youth in the Island.
During the meeting, officials from government, institutions emphasized the need for infrastructure development to the Health Center, school and the powerhouse and also raised their concerns in their respective areas.
Speaking at the meeting, the President shared updates and timelines of projects marked within the scope of the government budget, and shared updates of the Harbour expansion project. The President also expressed that the government would take the necessary action after discussing with the relevant institutions and addresses the specific issues and concerns raised by members of the Hulhudheli Island Council.
During the visit, President also visited the Health centre, Council Office and powerhouse.
