Vice President Faisal Naseem has visited the site of last Friday’s tragic fire incident in Henveiru Ward and checked on the progress of work at the site.
The Vice President toured the area this morning and met with workers at the site to observe the progress and with officials to assess the damage.
During the visit, Vice President Faisal Naseem advised authorities to take all necessary precautions while undertaking the work of assessing the damage and clearing the area.
Speaking to the officials after the tour, Vice President said that the government will not allow a repetition of such tragedies and that it is doing everything within the administration's power to alleviate safety standards in general.
Vice President Faisal Naseem added that the government will proactively take steps to prevent tragedies by learning from the past and acting upon the lessons.
