Vice President Faisal Naseem has tonight observed the closing friendly match played between the national volleyball teams of Sri Lanka and the Maldives at the Social Centre. Several Maldivians as well as Sri Lankans gathered to watch the match and cheer on their respective teams. The aforementioned match follows a friendly match played last night, also at the Social Centre, for which President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had been in attendance.
The Sri Lankan National Volleyball team is currently visiting the Maldives on invitation from the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment.
The Maldivian and Sri Lankan National Volleyball teams have been playing a series of friendly matches in preparation for the upcoming Central Zone Competition due to be held in Nepal.
