His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has received and accepted credentials from two new Ambassador designates to the Maldives, this morning at the President’s Office.
Following successive welcoming ceremonies, His Excellency Bounneme Chouanghom, Ambassador-designate of the People’s Republic of Laos to the Maldives, and his Excellency Ahmed Yousif Mohamed Elsiddig, Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Sudan to the Maldives spoke briefly with the President, commenting on our respective bilateral relations.
In their remarks both esteemed diplomats recapitulated the many areas in which their governments cooperate with the Maldives, both bilaterally and in the international community, adding that their respective governments will do their utmost to ensure the continuation of the friendly relations with the government of Maldives.
The President wished each ambassador success in fulfilling their duties and expressed his eagerness to engage constructively with them in the months and years ahead.
