Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with representatives from the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services and other relevant public institutions to discuss options to optimise the quality of state-run care facilities. The meeting was held this morning at the President's Office.

Senior Officials from 'Kudakudhige Hiyaa' children's home at Villimale', the 'Home for People with Special Needs' at Guraidhoo, and the Hulhumalé children's home 'Fiyavathi' attended the meeting. The Vice President enquired to the current status of these facilities as well as the obstacles being faced and plans for improving the operations and wellness standards of the facilities.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice President emphasized the importance conferred by this administration to the safety and well-being of wards at State-run care facilities and the value of conducting educational programs and life skill training such as learning to swim. The Vice President also discussed the importance of improving the medical facilities being provided to patients requiring long-term care with the attendants of the meeting.
