President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has declared Sunday, 28th July 2019 to be a public holiday. This decision was made due to a large number of students, civil servants, and public sector staff participating in the Independence Day celebratory events.
The President also declared Thursday, 15th August 2019 as a public holiday, to allow Eid Holidays to continue uninterrupted so that all students and workers who wish to travel and visit their families and friends on the occasion of Eid-al-Al'ha Eid can do so with ease.
