President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the members of South Huvadhu Atoll Gaddhoo Island Council this afternoon at The President’s Office and discussed the priorities and concerns raised by the island’s residents, as well as various development projects the council members have proposed for the benefit of their constituents.
During the meeting, council members shed light on the needs of the residents regarding speeding up the airport project in the island, to carry on the hospital and road development project, to enable ways to develop local tourism in the island, to protect the reclaimed land area, to develop a children’s park and to handover the neighboring island Gan to the islands council for agricultural and industrial purposes.
The President further expressed that the government would take necessary action after discussing with the line ministries and address the specific issues and concerns raised by members of the Gaddhoo Island Council.
