Several foreign dignitaries including the Serbian Minister of Labour, H.E. Zoran Djordjevic, two Assistant Secretaries at the United Nations, Mr Haoling Xu and Mr Vitaly Vanshelboim, representing the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations Offices for Projects and Services (UNOPS) has paid courtesy calls on the President H.E, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, today on the sidelines of the Maldives Partnership Forum 2019. The calls were held at Kuruba Maldives this afternoon.
During the meetings, President Solih assured the Serbian Minister of Labor, that the Maldives’ takes its labor obligations extremely seriously and that the welfare of our working population is paramount to his administration.
In his meeting with the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for the UNDP, Mr. Haoling Xu, he expressed his gratitude for the valuable ongoing work of the institution in the Maldives, which has thus far been a great boon to the country's socio-economic development. Similarly, he thanked the Assistant Secretary-General for the United Nations Office for Projects and Services, Mr. Vitaly Vanshelboim for the many valuable services the institution he represents provides for the Maldives - especially with regard to enhancing our water security.
