The new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency José Ramón Barañano Fernández presented his credentials to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih this morning, at a ceremony held today at the President’s Office.
During the call that immediately followed the ceremony President Solih welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives and congratulated him on the commencement of his term. The President further expressed that the Maldives places high importance on our relations with Spain, and highlighted several avenues in which our two countries can take our bilateral relations forward highlighting the spheres of economic cooperation; tourism, fisheries and agriculture; as well as renewable energy.
The Ambassador expressed that it was a privilege to represent his country to the Maldives, and reiterated the President’s sentiments regarding strengthening relations between our two countries.
