President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has tonight met with senior officials working at various institutions of Villingili Island of North Huvadhu Atoll.
At the meeting held at the Villingili Atoll Hospital meeting room, senior officials briefed the President on the administration and the challenges faced in carrying out the work of the different institutes. Moreover, they briefed the President on the aspiration and requests of the people of Villingili Island in developing the community.
In this regard, they noted that the Atoll Hospital is facing issues due to lack of resources and space. Further, they noted that they want to establish a local branch of Maldives National University to allow students to gain knowledge while staying in the island.
Speaking at the meeting President Solih stated the government would take necessary action after discussing with the line ministries and tackle these problems.
During this visit, President Solih visited several departments of the hospital and enquired about the situation. He also met with the patients and inquired about their state of health.
