President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has this afternoon met with members of the South Maalhos Madulu Dharavandhoo Island Council.
At a meeting held at the President’s Office, members of the council shared their concerns and future development projects with the President.
The Councilors especially noted the challenges being faced due to lack of clean water services and sanitation services. Also, they highlighted that the Island needs government’s help in developing integrated tourism in the Island. Further, they shed light on issues faced to the existing harbour.
Speaking in this regard, Council members requested to develop Dharavandhoo Airport. Moreover, they highlighted housing problems and electricity problems faced by the Island’s community. In addition they noted that the youth of the Island are in need of good football ground.
During the meeting, President Solih stated that the government would take necessary action after discussing with the line ministries and tackle these problems.
