President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has departed from Colombo, on conclusion of State Visit to Sri Lanka. The visit was made on the invitation of the President of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena and took part in the 71st Independence Day celebrations of Sri Lanka as the Guest of Honor.
President Solih and First Lady were officially welcomed on the State Visit at a ceremony held Today, at the Presidential Secretariat of Sri Lanka. They were officially received during the ceremonial welcomed by His Excellency, President Maithripala Sirisena and First Lady Jayanthi Pushpa Kumari of Sri Lanka.
As part of the State Visit, President Solih and President Sirisena led the official talks between the government of Maldives and the government of Sri Lanka. Discussions in the bilateral meeting between the President of Maldives and President of Sri Lanka has paved the way forward for greater cooperation in areas of shared interest.
Easier today, President Solih attended the State Luncheon hosted in his honour by the President of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena.
During the State Visit, President Solih and First Lady also met the Maldivian community residing in Sri Lanka.
