President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has stated that his deepest satisfaction comes from overcoming the most difficult of challenges. The President made this remark during an exclusive television interview today.
During the interview the President noted that his greatest pleasure is working towards, and realizing, the needs of Maldivians and completing the huge development projects undertaken by the Administration – it is a passion to complete challenging tasks, he said.
The President additionally highlighted that the world leader who inspired him the most was the former Prime Minister of Singapore, His Excellency Lee Kuan Yew – the former Prime Minister’s efforts have made, and defined, much of what Singapore is today and proves possible what small nations can achieve the President said.
Looking back on his journey, the President underscored that his family instills him with courage and confidence – he particularly highlighted the social work carried out by First lady Madam Fathimath Ibrahim as a personal inspiration.
President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom stated that the Administration cannot tolerate any action against the sovereignty of the Maldives. The President also talked about the political hardships that he has had to overcome, noting that, all his decisions during such times considered first and foremost, the Maldivian people.
