The Non-Resident Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Maldives, Her Excellency Madam Pham Thi Bich Ngoc, presented her Letter of Credence to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, this morning, at the President’s Office.
At the ceremony, the President welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives and congratulated her on the commencement of her term as the Ambassador of Vietnam to the Maldives.
During the call, the President highlighted the strong partnership of firm solidarity and excellent bilateral ties that exist between the Maldives and Vietnam. The President also noted that the Maldives and Vietnam share common views on an array of issues of mutual interest, specifically in the international arena.
The Ambassador expressed assurances of Vietnam’s commitment to continue in its role as a friend and a partner to the Maldives; highlighting that Vietnam stands ready to extend support and assistance to the Maldives in every way possible.
The President was accompanied at the ceremony by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, the Minister of State for Foreign Relations at the President’s Office, H.E. Mohamed Naseer and the Foreign Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ahmed Sareer.
The Ambassador of Vietnam was accompanied to the President’s Office by Mr. Vu Ngoc Tuan, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Vietnam.
