Vice President Abdulla Jihad has said that this administration will not let corruption cast a shadow on any State affair, in its high speed developmental evolvement. The Vice President made this remark while speaking at the opening ceremony of the National Anti-Corruption Symposium.

In his remarks, the Vice President gave his assurance that this administration would hold a complete investigation of any cases related to corruption, and take necessary actions against those responsible, fairly and without discrimination.

The Vice President pointed out that national interest revolved around honesty and morality when working against corruption. He also noted the need to revise and modernise the country’s criminal justice system.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Jihad called upon all institutions working within the criminal justice system to work towards a common goal, and all implementing bodies to deliver on their tasks without reluctance. The Vice President further noted that all public servants must give great importance to transparency, accountability and feasibility in serving the people. He also reiterated the administration’s commitment to eliminate corruption, strengthen the criminal justice system, and reinforce human resources.
