First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim, has tonight, inaugurated "58"; the world’s largest underwater restaurant installed at Hurawalhi Island Resort and Spa, which was inaugurated earlier tonight, by President Abulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

“5.8” is the world’s largest all-glass underwater restaurant — fully submerged with the capacity to serve 24 diners at one time.

The 74 feet long restaurant consists of a steel structure with a transparent, acrylic dome situated 5.8 metres below the Indian Ocean, allowing diners to see marine life passing by.
