President Abulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has, this evening, inaugurated Hurawalhi Island Resort and Spa.

Hurawalhi Island Resort and Spa is an adults-only, 40 million dollar resort property, located in Faadhippolhu Atoll built and operated by Champalars Holding Private Limited.

The five-star, 180-bed resort which is approximately 400m x 165m in size, and consisting of 90 villas sub-categorized to ocean pool villa, ocean villa, beach pool villa and beach villa took two years to complete. It comprises of three restaurants, including an underwater restaurant which is the largest of its kind in the world.

At the ceremony, the President was gifted with an information CD on Hurawalhi Island Resort and Spa presented to him by Mr. Champa Mohamed Moosa.

The President was accompanied at the ceremony by First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim and Minister of Tourism Hon. Moosa Zameer.
