The Sri Lankan High Commissioner designated to Maldives His Excellency Major General (Retd) B.R.W.M.R.A.B Thoradeniya has paid a courtesy call on Vice President Abdulla Jihad, this morning, at the President’s Office.
During the call, the Vice President noted the close bilateral relations between the Maldives and Sri Lanka, and expressed his confidence that the ties would flourish in the coming years. The Vice President and the Sri Lankan High Commissioner discussed ways to further cooperation in the areas of economy and defence. Vice President Jihad also welcomed Sri Lankan entrepreneurs to invest in the tourism sector of Maldives.
Further, Vice President Jihad and Sri Lankan High Commissioner Thoradeniya exchanged ideas on issues of mutual interest.
The Vice President was accompanied at the meeting by Under Secretary at the President’s Office Mr. Mohamed Naseer, and Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Hussain Niyaz.
