Unity within is key to peace, progress and prosperity – Vice President

Vice President Abdulla Jihad has stated that unity within is the key to peace, progress and prosperity. He stated this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Maldives Chapter of Duniya Melayu Duniya Islam (DMDI).

In his address, the Vice President highlighted that the aim of establishing the “Maldives Chapter of DMDI” was to explore and engage in areas of mutual benefit such as tourism, finance, investment, education, information technology, women and youth empowerment with Malaysia.

Noting that Malaysia has become a favored destination for Maldivians seeking professional education, the Vice President thanked the Government of Malaysia for the tremendous support and assistance in developing the Maldives’ human resource. In addition, the Vice President stated that market forces, private sector & foreign direct investments and NGOs play a vital role in the nation’s development.

The Vice President also ensured the wholehearted support of the Maldivian Government in the development of closer economic ties between the two countries.
