Special Envoy of Commonwealth calls on the President

The Special Envoy of the Commonwealth Secretary General Dr. Willy Mutunga paid a courtesy call on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, this morning, at the President’s Office.

During the call, the President welcomed the Special Envoy to the Maldives and expressed sincere gratitude for accepting the role of the Special Envoy. The President and the Special Envoy also discussed areas of further cooperation between the Maldives and the Commonwealth.

The President was accompanied at the courtesy call by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E Dr. Mohamed Asim, Minister for Legal Affairs of the President’s Office H.E. Aishath Azima Shakoor, Foreign Secretary Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed and Under Secretary at the President’s Office, Mr. Mohamed Naseer.
