President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim have attended the opening night of the music festival “Dhivehi Fannaanun ge Miuzikee Eid”, being held on the occasion of this year’s Independence Day. The festival will be held till the 30th of July 2016, at the Maafannu Stadium.
The music festival organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs provides a platform for new local artists to showcase their talents.
On arrival at the function, the President and First Lady were greeted by Minister of Home Affairs Hon. Ahmed Zuhoor. Also in attendance at the function this evening were former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed & Madam Ilham Hussain, Speaker of the Parliament Hon. Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed, members of the Cabinet and members of the Parliament.
