Vice President Abdulla Jihad has appealed to the Maldivian youth to be dedicated and committed towards their work. The Vice President made this remark while speaking at the graduation of the vocational training programme “Explorer”, held by international hotel group Minor Hotels.

At the function held this afternoon, the Vice President underlined President Yameen’s electoral pledge of providing 90 thousands jobs for young people, and thanked Minor Hotels for their contribution towards employment. He also noted that it was a very good partnership programme with the Government of Maldives, and expressed his confidence that the programme would instil in Maldivians, the required skills for resort management and operations.

On completion of the Minor Hotels’ “Explorer” programme, trainees attain an internationally accredited Certificate III qualification in Hospitality. Participants receive training combined with on-the-job experience; working in a real job, for a real boss, with a real wage.
