Vice President Abdulla Jihad has attended the Grand Finale of ‘Dhivehiraajeyge Emme Ali Gadha Thari’, held at Television Maldives this evening.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President said that reciting holy Quran is obligatory to all the Maldivians and that it is not limited to a particular age group or an individual. Furthermore, he called on all the parents to work hard and make all the students who finish Secondary School recite holy Quran fluently. He also called on the people to make the holy Quran the most preferred, most treasured book among ourselves. During this event, the Vice President also shed light on his experiences in the field of Quran studies.
During the ceremony, the Vice President awarded first place winner Mr. Adam Naseem the winner’s trophy and the MRF 500,000 cash prize.
Mr. Ibrahim Imaz was runner-up while Mr. Abdullah Tholib second runner-up.
During the ceremony Public Service Media (PSM) announced additional up-coming TV shows; ‘Dhivehiraajeyge Emme Ali Gadha Thari Junior’ and an International Quran competition upon request from the President.
‘Dhivehiraajeyge Emme Ali Gadha Thari’ is a special program presented during the month of Ramadan, by PSM, with the aim of promoting recitation of the holy Quran
