President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has inaugurated the Leisure Sector of the Hulhumale Central Park this evening. First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim accompanied the President at the ceremony. Following the official opening, the President and First Lady took a tour of the Central Park.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu noted that the development of a youth city in Hulhumale was one of the most important electoral pledges of this administration. In this regard, the Minister underlined that the Central Park was an important component of the youth city. The Housing Minister also highlighted the major milestones the current administration has achieved within its half-term, with regard to urban development in all parts of the country.
The Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation Mr. Mohamed Saiman stated that Hulhumale was a city being developed targeting a quality, healthy living. He further highlighted plans for development of other sectors of the Hulhumale Central Park.
Members of the Cabinet, and Members of the Parliament were in attendance at the inauguration of the Leisure Sector of the Hulhumale Central Park held this evening.
