Vice President of the World Bank, Ms. Annette Dixon paid a courtesy call on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom at the President’s Office this morning.
During the meeting the President and the Vice President of the World Bank discussed ongoing projects and the possibility of future projects in partnership with the institution. Key discussions included the backing of the institution on waste-to-energy and fisheries projects.
The President additionally highlighted the need for a transformational agenda for progress, while the Vice President of the World Bank complimented the President on his drive to create jobs, especially for the youth, at this most opportune moment of regional economic growth.
The President was accompanied at the meeting by the Minister of Finance and Treasury, Hon. Abdulla Jihad and Under Secretary at the President’s Office, Mr. Mohamed Naseer.
