President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has announced that job opportunities will be opened up for people with disabilities from Fenaka outlets beginning next month. The President stated this while addressing the attendees at a function held to inaugurate the sewerage system & harbor and to mark the completion of the Coastal Protection Project in South Huvadhoo Atoll, Thinadhoo Island.
At the function, the President noted that Thinadhoo was the first island to have three major projects of this scale completed. Additionally, the President pointed to the swiftness in again providing electricity to Thinadhoo in the event of the powerhouse burning down as proof of the determination behind this administration's policy of providing electricity to all islands.
The President further stated that the different developmental projects that were being carried out throughout Maldives were done so with assistance from several agencies. Also, the President stated that this administration aims to complete a numerous developmental projects in the swiftest time possible.
While addressing the attendees, the President stated that, as promoting sports for the development of youth is a key goal of this administration, a Futsal stadium will be built in Thinadhoo for the satisfaction and development of youth in the near future.
The President was accompanied at the function by Minister of Environment and Energy, Hon. Thoriq Ibrahim, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the non-resident Ambassador of France to Maldives, Mr. Jean-Marin Schuh, Member of Parliament representing South Thinadhoo, Mr. Abdulla Ahmed, Member of Parliament representing North Thinadhoo, Mr. Saudulla Hilmee and Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation Limited, Mr. Mohamed Nimal.
