The Cabinet today discussed ways to implement the Veshi Fahi Male’ programme.
Veshi Fahi Male’ programme initiated by Malé Municipality, aims to combine the development of Malé, Vilingili, Gulhi Falhu, Thilafushi, Hulhumalé and Malé International Airport to decongest Malé. A number of recreation facilities will also be established in Malé under the programme. The programme was inaugurated by President Mohamed Nasheed on 10 November.
The members of the Cabinet also discussed the ongoing development projects under each of their respective ministries.
Today’s meeting was attended by all Cabinet members except Defence Minister Ameen Faisal, Attorney General Dr Ahmed Ali Sawad and Islamic Affairs Minister Dr Abdul Majeed Abdul Baree, who are currently out of Male’. The newly appointed ministers – Mr Mohamed Adil Saleem and Dr Mariyam Zulfa – were also present at today’s Cabinet meeting.
