President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has attended the men’s final match of the 47th National Volleyball Championship 2015. Maldivian Recreation Club won the match against Dhivehi Sifainge Club with a 3-1 victory.
The tournament organized by the Volleyball Association of Maldives was held from the 4th to 9th of December 2015 at the Social Centre Indoor Hall. A total of 3 teams participated in the 47th National Volleyball Championship.
At the closing ceremony held after the final match, President Yameen awarded the champion team Maldivian Recreation Club with the Champion’s trophy. This is the first time Maldivian Recreation Club, representing the national airline, competed in the National Volleyball Championship final. The runner-up team Dhivehi Sifainge Club was the last champion of the National Volleyball League.
President Yameen was accompanied at the final match by Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Ahmed Zuhoor, and President of the Volleyball Association of Maldives Mr. Mohamed Riyaz.
