Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Ghafoor has called upon all the political parties to work together and move forward with this Government. The Vice President made this remark while speaking to the people of Lhohi, of South Miladhummadulu Atoll, during his visit to the island today.
In his speech the Vice President said that the Government will provide the infrastructure for development, and that it was up to entrepreneurs, workforces, and the people of the islands to utilize these facilities and achieve their developmental goals.
Speaking today, the Vice President highlighted the enormous effort being put in by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom towards the development of the country and for the betterment of the Maldivian people. Furthermore, the Vice President noted that this Government works with the input of youth as well as the country’s senior citizen, incorporating the experience of the senior citizens, with a modern vision. The Vice President also highlighted the various projects planned by the Government towards the development of Lhohi Island.
On conclusion of his tour of Lhohi, Vice President Adheeb visited the island of Maafaru, of South Miladhummadulu atoll. Speaking after laying the foundation for the Maafaru Airport, Vice President Adheeb expressed his confidence that in the near future the South Miladhummadulu atoll would be a main tourism zone, which would come with numerous employment opportunities. Focusing on the difficulties being faced during sea transfers, the Vice President stated the Government’s goal to interconnect all the islands via air transportation. The Vice President also spoke on the future projects planned by the Government towards the development of Maafaru Island.
