Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Ghafoor has paid a courtesy call on the President of Malta, Marie Louise Coleiro Preca. The meeting was held today at the official residence of the Maltese President.
At the meeting, Vice President Adheeb presented a letter to President Preca on behalf of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. Speaking at the meeting, the Vice President expressed his gratitude to the Maltese President for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to him. He also commended President Preca on being a successful woman leader.
The Vice President and the Maltese President further noted the similarities between the Maldives and Malta, and explored areas to further the existing bilateral ties. President Preca of Malta briefed Vice President Adheeb on the economy and investment opportunities in Malta. Discussions at the meeting were also held on climate change.
