Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed last evening attended the prize giving ceremony of Quran recitation competition jointly organised by Vinavi Quran Class, Asaas Quran Class and Iyaaru Quran Class on the occasion of Ramadan 1431.
Speaking at the ceremony held at the Islamic Centre, the Vice President thanked and congratulated the organisers for holding a successful competition with great participation from schools and other Quran classes in Male’.
He also noted that recitation and studying of Quran spiritually and mentally uplifting and spiritual and metal strength was important for youth to learn personal and social discipline. Therefore, he urged the parents to encourage children to study Quran.
At the last evening’s function the Vice President gave away prizes to winners of the competition in different categories.
