President Mohamed and Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed today attended the foundation laying ceremony of Teachers’ flat to be built under the Education Fund.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Mohamed Nasheed spoke on the importance of the education fund and the need to broaden it. He also highlighted the important role of teachers in the society stating that teachers build the foundation upon which a society is built.
The foundation stone was laid by student of Madhrasathul Arabiyya, Manaf Ahmed Imaduddin School student Aishath Nausheen Shimaz. The ten storey Teachers’ flat will have 80 apartments.
