First Lady Madam Fathimath Ibrahim has met with the 10 candidates and their families who have received financial assistance from Zakat Fund to undertake their bone marrow transplant operations. The First Lady met with the candidates this afternoon at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, prior to their departures.
At the function, First Lady Madam Fathimath Ibrahim was presented with a plaque of appreciation for her contribution and support by the National Social Protection Agency. Madam Fathimath Ibrahim also presented commemorative plaques to the candidates.
Eight of the 10 candidates who left this morning will travel to Sri Lanka, while two candidates will travel to India.
