President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy ‎to Pakistani President, H.E. Mamnoon Hussain, following the bomb blast at a mosque in Southern Pakistan.

The President’s message reads as follows:‎

“It was with deep shock and sadness that I learnt of the deadly bomb blast at a mosque in Southern Pakistan, causing the tragic loss of lives and grievous injury to many. The Government and people of the Maldives join me in condemning this cowardly act of terror in the strongest terms, and we express our firm solidarity with Pakistan in all its efforts to maintain national peace and harmony.”

“The Maldives stands firm in its commitment to the fight against the global menace of terrorism, and will continue to work closely with Pakistan and the international community as a whole in eliminating the scourge of terrorism.”

“During this period of grief, I would like to convey my heartfelt sympathy to the Government and brotherly people of Pakistan.”
