Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has called on the Maldivian youth to make the most out of every opportunity presented to obtain an education. The Vice President made this remark while speaking at the Writers’ Book Fair 2014, organized by the Dhivehi Language Academy.
Speaking at the function held at the National Art Gallery on Monday evening, Vice President Jameel emphasized that education is the bedrock of a nation’s development. In this regard, for the purpose of fostering the further progress of the country, the Vice President appealed to parents and teachers to undertake further efforts to enrich the minds of Maldivian students.
Asserting that the Dhivehi language remains at the core of Maldivian nationalism, Vice President Jameel also praised events such as these for promoting and preserving our mother tongue.
