President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has arrived back in Male’ Monday morning, on conclusion of his official visits to Sri Lanka and Singapore.

The President visited Sri Lanka to attend the inauguration ceremony of the 8th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), at the invitation of President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Following his visit to Sri Lanka, President Yameen made an official visit to Singapore, at the invitation of Singaporean Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong.

Briefing the local media on his visit, President Yameen said that the Sri Lankan Minister of Health had given assurance of Sri Lanka’s assistance in providing medical specialists in the areas of anaesthesia, gynaecology, and neonatal services, to the Maldives. He also noted that discussions were held on further relaxing Aa Sandha services in Sri Lanka, and providing discounted charges for Maldivians seeking medical services at Sri Lankan Hospitals.
