Former President Maumoon meets with the Chinese President

Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has met with President Xi Jinping of China. The meeting took place on Monday at the President’s Office.

Noting the close relations between the two countries, President Maumoon expressed his gratitude to President Xi and the Government of China for their continued assistance to the Maldives.

Similarly, President Xi expressed his appreciation for the support lent to China during President Maumoon’s tenure. 

Also in attendance at the meeting were Hon. Mohamed Hussein Shareef, Minister at the President's Office, Hon. Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor, Minister of Tourism, Mr. Ahmed Faris Maumoon, Minister of State for Economic Development, and Mr. Abdulla Hameed, Ambassador at Large.
