The new Sudanese Ambassador accredited to the Maldives, His ‎Excellency Dr. Hassan Eisa Hassan Al Talib presented his letter of credence ‎to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom this morning.‎

At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present ‎credentials, President Yameen congratulated Ambassador Al Talib on the ‎commencement of his term. Following the ceremony, the President and the ‎‎Ambassador discussed ways to strengthening existing bilateral ties between ‎the Maldives and Sudan, and explored avenues for further cooperation ‎between the two countries. Ambassador Al Talib commented on the special ‎fraternal relationship between the Maldives and Sudan, with both countries ‎being Muslim nations, and affirmed his commitment to enhancing these ties ‎during his term of office. President Yameen recalled the longstanding ‎cordial ties between the two countries, and emphasized his wish for ‎bilateral collaborative efforts to improve further in the time ahead.‎

The meeting was attended by the Minister at the President’s Office, ‎Hon. Mohamed Hussain Shareef, Foreign Secretary, Dr. Ali Naseer ‎Mohamed, and the Military Attaché at the Sudanese Embassy in India, Mr. ‎A. Hamid.‎
